Abstract:

E-commerce in rural areas has emerged as a transformative force in recent years, reshaping the way rural populations access goods, services, and opportunities. With the rapid expansion of internet connectivity and smartphone usage, rural communities are increasingly becoming active participants in the digital economy. The growth of e-commerce in rural areas is not merely a matter of convenience, but a reflection of a larger shift in the socio-economic fabric of the country. Several factors have contributed to the rise of e-commerce in rural India and other developing nations. These include government initiatives aimed at digital literacy and infrastructure development, the efforts of private e-commerce companies to penetrate untapped markets, and the evolving aspirations of rural consumers who are now more informed, connected, and quality-conscious than ever before.
