Abstract:

As of November 2019, the new Coronavirus Disease or COVID-19 has spread over the globe and the World Health Organization (WHO) designated it a pandemic. The virus was initially discovered in Wuhan, China, in November 2019. Organizations all across the world, particularly in India, have been forced to switch to a Work from Home (WFH) business model in order to maintain company continuity as a result of this widespread harm. Research on work, organizations, productivity, and WFH and their influence on the epidemic have been studied from a historical and continuing viewpoint. A lack of study has been done on the effects of lockdowns on work-life balance (WFH). As one of the first important studies on WFH during the pandemic, this one is very significant. A total of 526 IT experts from all around the world were interviewed for this study. About two-thirds of IT personnel reported an improvement in productivity when working from home, making the most of the time saved by not having to go to work. IT workers' productivity during lockdowns is examined in this paper, with special attention paid to organisational aspects. Quantitative analysis is combined with qualitative responses from survey takers to get at the final results of this study. Workers' ability to remain productive even in a WFH circumstance was shown to be dependent on a variety of organisational elements, including individual empowerment, autonomy, and a positive work environment. Over the course of many months of WFH, we also noticed a sensation of exhaustion among our subjects.
