Abstract:

This paper examines the multifaceted impact of India's 2016 demonetization on Karnataka's banking sector, focusing on institutional performance and employee experiences. While previous studies have predominantly analyzed financial metrics, this research integrates both quantitative data and qualitative insights to provide a comprehensive understanding of the policy's effects. Findings indicate that while banks experienced increased deposits and a shift towards digital transactions, employees faced heightened stress levels and operational challenges. The study underscores the importance of considering human factors in policy implementation and offers recommendations for mitigating adverse effects in future financial reforms.
