Abstract:

This paper proposes a method for storing accident data in a vehicle in realtime by using a camera to capture image data during driving. With the rise of vehicle accidents, the need for data to determine accident circumstances and fault has led to the development of vehicle black boxes that record driving data, including vehicle speed. The proposed accident data recording apparatus records external circumstances at the time of an accident as image data using a camera mounted in the vehicle. This data, along with preand post-accident external image data and driving data, helps determine the cause of the accident.
