Abstract:
A lot of things having to do with e-Learning and Human Resource (HR) revolve on competencies. Competency descriptions are a tool used by HR departments to outline the skills and knowledge that are necessary to carry out certain job duties. Workers and candidates alike may hone these skills via formal education, work experience, and certifications. In most cases, in order for HR to locate qualified individuals, they must compare such necessary and gained competencies. The same thing happens with online education. Training programs or curricula should detail the skills and knowledge that participants will gain upon completion, as well as the requirements that participants must meet before enrolling. This study examines the current methods for modelling skills and their limits, with the goal of developing more comprehensive techniques that may enable (semi-)automatic competency matching.
