Abstract:

Many prestigious colleges, especially in India, are offering online degree programs in artificial intelligence and machine learning to meet the rising need for qualified candidates. Examining the usefulness, industrial relevance, and authenticity of online AI/ML degrees given by prominent Indian institutions in comparison to conventional degrees, this study delves into employer perspectives of these programs. Gaining insight into how companies see these credentials is crucial in light of the meteoric rise of online education, especially in the domains of AI and ML. To better understand the perspectives of 150 companies from a range of sectors, including consulting, IT, and finance, on the benefits of online degrees, a survey was carried out. Employers value the technical abilities and practical knowledge offered by online AI/ML programs, and the results show that this perspective is typically good. But, especially in very competitive employment procedures, there is still some doubt about the complete equivalent of online degrees to conventional ones. The research delves deeper into the essential skills sought for by AI/ML businesses, highlighting the significance of technical knowledge, practical experience, and the capacity to solve problems.
