Abstract:
Women, children, and even elderly people from all walks of life now have serious concerns about security. Children are being abducted, women are being beaten and harassed, and elderly people are dealing with a number of issues, such as robbery. In order to improve women's and children's safety and security, this study uses the Raspberry Pi3 to construct a smart wearable device system. It functions as both a security system and an alert. It alerts those in close proximity to the user (wearing the smart device) with a beep. The system locates the user using the Global Positioning System (GPS) and leverages the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and General Radio Packet Service (GPRS) technology to broadcast the user's location via SMS to the police and emergency contact. When the user presses the panic button on the smart wearable device system, the gadget also uses a USB webcam to take a picture of the assault and the victim's surroundings. It then sends the image to the emergency contact via email.
