Abstract:
The research focusses on API structure, with a particular emphasis on gateways that allow for interactions and endpoints that connect various systems. It emphasizes the importance of well-designed APIs that assure not only data format compatibility, but also protocol alignment and semantic consistency, in order to enable seamless device connection. With the increasing proliferation of the Internet of Things, multiple communication protocols and data standards provide interoperability and security concerns. Ensuring strong authentication and endpoint protection is critical. The proposed research looks into options such as rolling code methods, which create time-sensitive authentication tokens to improve security and prevent unauthorized access. It also presents a framework for improving API design and security while addressing authentication for x-IoT devices such as databases, sensors, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing. These developments are intended to establish a safe, scalable, and interoperable IoT environment.
