Abstract:

A novel face count detection system controlled by a Arduino Nano microcontroller is shown in this project. It incorporates a automatic light control mechanism. By using computer vision to identify the quantity and presence of people in a given space, the system seeks to optimize energy use in smart homes and offices. The face detection module uses the OpenCV libraries to interpret video captured by a camera in real-time, finding and counting faces. It then sends this data to the Arduino Nano using serial connection.
