Abstract:

Thermal performance of solar energy systems is primarily impacted by heat-absorbing materials, especially coatings. This study investigates utilizing black paint to cover solar gathering absorbers to avoid the high cost of standard coatings. A lab tested four popular black paints for absorption. These coatings' properties were examined to discover economical solar energy options. The findings show how commercial black coatings enhance solar collector absorption and efficiency, revealing their potential for solar thermal applications.
